Almar Marinas
Founded in 1973 by Harry Nelson, Jr. Mr. Nelson, a visionary shared an idea with two partners, and together they acquired their first marina - Ventura Isle Marina in Ventura, CA to begin a true boating community.
As the marinas grew in number and size, Mr. Nelson gave up his law practice to concentrate on what has successfully become the largest operation of saltwater marinas on the West Coast.
Almar Marinas are found at many of the major western boating markets, including Ventura, the Channel Islands Harbor, Marina del Rey, Alameda, CA, San Francisco, Oakland, Martinez, San Diego, and Ko Olina Marina in Oahu, Hawaii. Combined, these marinas can accommodate over 3000 watercraft.
